and then she snapped: wordless wednesday, but with words

wordless wednesday, but with words

My brother, Pete, passed away three years ago today. Unexpectedly.  I remember when my sister called to tell me. She was sobbing, not wanting to believe the news. He was our brother, but in addition to that, he was her very best friend. She came over to my house and we called our Mom. At work. Can you imagine? Being at work and getting news like that? I'll never forget that day. Feeling like I didn't know what to do, but that I must do something. I only have good memories of Pete. And I get to see him in Camden all the time. Camden has his Uncle Pete's excited personality, and he looks just like Pete did at his age. And that I love.

This is Pete's tree, the one we planted in our backyard in his memory.

linking up with you capture {spring}

Here's my confession:
I don't really "get" wordless wednesday. So let's call it what it is. Around here words are totally ok, and actually encouraged! So if you like words too and want to link up your wordless wednesday, but with words, please do.  And if it's Thursday by the time you get around to it, well heck, that's ok too.

and then, she {snapped}

  21. A lovely tree for all the lovely memories. I won't say I'm sorry for your loss because I know that part of your brother still lives in the hearts of all of those who knew and love (I can't say loved as well, because he's alive in your hearts even if he's not with your family) him.
