swampy draws at the spar. aka I went out past dark.

My sister's boyfriend is in a band, called Swampy Draws, and after all this time I still hadn't seen them play, so when I found out that they were playing at my favorite tavern and (halfway) early, I decided I better not miss my chance!
my sister, me, and my mom. waiting for the show to start.

courtenay and clare, BFFs since way back when

my dad, my cousin, and Swampy himself!

some old (seriously drugged?) guys and a half nekkid girl with a tamborine

more old guys...the Blue Baboons (and Ted Brown)

finally! Swampy Draws! these guys are awesome. really funny, really offensive, and unlike anything I've ever heard before.

why yes, that IS my mom singing these boots are made for walking.
she always wanted to be a backup singer.

flashback friday

I was looking through a bunch of old photos of my brother, Pete, today, because I'm putting together a photo album at my mom's request...for my mom who is getting MARRIED today! Her and her person are eloping. They went to Laughlin, NV to get married and are taking a gamble on love. Haha. I crack myself up. (anybody else?, no?, just me? ok...) Anyway. Here are a few of my favorite oldies of Pete:

First off, if Heidi thinks she is white trash check this out. Also, please note the shoes (with socks, no less!)

Grace pointed out that this is EXACTLY what Charlie looks like when he is throwing a fit. EX.ACT.LY.

Happy WEDDING Day to my mom and Jim. I wish you both the very best!

happy mothers' day

I had a fabulous mothers' day today. I slept in, and woke up to dutch babies and bacon. Then Chris took the boys grocery shopping, while I lounged on the couch and watched tv. In the afternoon I met three of my besties for pedis, then got home just in time for our families to come over for dinner. Perfection!

Two amazing moms, (Chris' and mine)

mi mama

My mom stopped by today after her chiropractor appt (she hurt her back three weeks ago!) and we made her take us out to lunch and go to Target.  We went to Chevy's.  MMMM.  Have you had the napa valley quesadilla there?  It is sooooo yummy.  Charlie ate a boatload of rice and beans.  (Uh oh).

She's totally going to yell at me for putting this photo of her on the "world wide web".  But all I have to say is that she better not "tweedle butt" around.  I don't even know what that means, sometimes my mom just makes words up, like today, she coined "tweedle butt".

love ya mom!

touch up tuesday

I found this photo of my mom and dad when I was scanning my old photos last week.  They were probably about 18 years old.  Aren't they adorable?

I have always loved this photo, so I didn't do much in the way of editing, I created a levels adjustment layer to darken the blacks, then I ran coffeshops creamy chocolate B&W action and turned off the B&W layer (don't I always?), to give it a little more vintage look.  I also used the spot healer to fix a few scratches on the photo.

Europa!

Everytime I go to lunch at Europa two things happen:
1)  I imagine that maybe I'll order something other than the chicken apple salad (I never do)
2)  I imagine that maybe our server will be a little bit more attentive (he never is)

Mothers' Day 2010

We ended our fabulous Seattle weekend with Mothers' Day dinner at my Mom's.  We had an abundance of artichokes, Clare made some scrumptious kabobs, and we had coconut creme pie for dessert...just because Lars loves coconut so much.  (That was a joke, Lars hates coconut, but he's not a mom, so whatev).

I love this picture of us!  Clare took it.

Mmmmm, Sean grilling the Kabobs.  And three reasons I'm a mom.

Camden playin' spoons.  And my brother, Lars, who looks great with his new haircut.
