and then she snapped: show {off} your shot

show {off} your shot

Howdy y'all!

Let's get started with my favorite shot from last week...from... Ashley!  I just love the sharpness of this little girl's eyes.  Seriously, check out those eyelashes!  What a gorgeous little girl!

It's just lovely, I love it!
Congratulations, Ashley, help yourself to my awesome winner badge:

This week I'm sharing a shot that wasn't all that great:

It snowed today, and it doesn't happen all that often around here, so I wanted to get a shot of Camden playing in the snow (which he did ALL. DAY. LONG.)...but this shot is too dark, and I don't like the distracting houses in the background.  So, I brightened it with a levels adjustment.  Cropped the houses out(keeping the rule of thirds in mind).  Then I converted it to black and white, (there are many ways to do this which I will try and touch on in a future show {off} your shot, but on this particular shot I used Coffeeshop's Grainy Black and White action).

Now it's your turn!  What tip can you share this week?

Rules Guidelines:
~One photo per person, and the photo must be taken by you.
~Blog about your photo and share something about how you took the photo, or how you edited it.  (Please don't skip this part, because it is so fun to be able to learn from one another).
~Add my button (below) to your blog post...(text links are ok too, but please do link back to me or I might cry)
~Link up to your blog or Flickr page, (but please link up to your specific post and not just your blog homepage...if I can't tell what post you are linking up I will have to delete the entry).

If you have ANY questions, feel free to email me.

I can't wait to see what you come up with this week!
