There are two kinds of mothers. The kind who don't like back to school, because they are going to miss their kids all day, and the kind who cannot wait so that they can spend more time drinking (coffee) with friends, shopping, and lying around watching trashy tv. You can guess which category I fall into. This year in particular I was so ready for back to school. Summer lasted the perfect amount of time, and the kids were just about to get bored so I was counting the days until they could head off all day to get all tired out, and maybe learn some stuff. We've patiently waited while everybody else in the entire universe went back and then today, finally it was our turn.
I totally stole this idea from Heidi. Then I made it black and white so I could link up with her too. How you like me now, Heidi?? (Don't worry, she loves me).
8th grader and 3rd grader. WHAT? See how this shot compares to previous years' here.
Waiting for the bus...
I can't even tell you how happy thrilled excited ecstatic I am that I don't have to carpool anymore. Seriously.
enjoy your alone time! :)

I LOVE the 2009 shot! The looks on their faces is priceless (especially Camden's)!I'm definitely a "can't wait for school to start" kind of mom. My 3.5 year old starts preschool next Tuesday and I don't know who is more excited, him, or me!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures - they are very Happy! And I love the B&W one - great tones!
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to lie - I'm always encouraged to hear Moms talking about being happy about back to school - and needing their girlfriend coffee time - cause as a nanny with no kids of her own - I certainly know that while it will be very very different with my own kids, I'll always want some Me time :)
Very happy pictures - and I love the B&W one - great tones!

Fabulous captures as always. I am the mom that cries every year on the first day and then wanders around the house like a lost puppy...lol Especially this year since my baby is in Kindergarten :)
ReplyDeleteCarpool and car line can suck the life out of you. Glad your kids can take the bus!!! Love that first picture.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all of your back to school photos. your son looks like he should be going into 6th grade. he is tall and quite handsome. Your daughter is beautiful. it was so neat to go back and see how much they both hav changed over the years.
