"school's out for summer!"

I wonder how many blog posts have this exact title around this time of year? I'm sure I am not original. But sometimes I just can't think of anything witty. (Sometimes).

We celebrated the end of the school year with a BBQ lunch at Camden's school, and an 8th Grade Graduation Assembly at Grace's school. Grace was awarded the prestigious "Student of the Year" award, (AND she looked adorable in her 8th Grade dance dress, which is perhaps even more important). Next fall we'll have a 4th grader and a high schooler. OMG. How did that happen?

Camden, K'Quincey and Charlie being goofballs.

Grace, Sarah, and Krissy being gorgeous.

Last day of 8th and 3rd grade!

downtown in instagrams

This is Stella. Stella's big sister Rowan is really sick and needs prayers. Charlie and I got to play with Stella yesterday for a couple hours and (after she decided we weren't going to eat her) we had lots of fun!

Painting at the Children's Museum of Tacoma

Gluing is SERIOUS business.

We concluded our playdate with funny faces and spinning, because, obviously.

After we dropped Stella back with her family Charlie and I had some time to kill downtown while we waited for Chris' train to come in. I didn't have my big girl camera with me because who DOES that anymore?

But I do love me some Tacoma.

The Chihuly Bridge of Glass has some awesome photo opps. Big girl camera or not.

Waiting in the car for dad, crashed out listening to One Direction.

What's happening with you this weekend? Maybe I'll dust off my big camera. Maybe.

we're not in t-town anymore

I've been hearing about downpours, and flooding, and hail back home. (You know, the usual stuff). Which makes spending Thanksgiving week in sunny San Diego with Chris' folks just that much sweeter. Yesterday we visited Legoland, today we met up with an online friend turned real life friend and her kiddos for lunch at the Wave House (and I may have even persuaded her to snap our Christmas card pic), and tomorrow is breakfast at the Mission followed by shopping for the girls and touring the Midway for the boys.  Surprisingly, this vacation has gone slowly so far...which hardly EVER happens, especially since we are having so much fun! Our condo is literally ON THE FREAKING OCEAN. I apologize if you've been following me on instagram, as I have been bragging all over the place over there about being on vacation. And not at home in the pouring rain. As Grace would say, "sorry not sorry".

linking up with Heidi (we miss you Heidi!)

black and white

There's something about a black and white photo that makes everything "cooler".
Linking up with my friend Heidi.

show off your shot

Happy Birthday to my beautiful friend Stephanie. She is gorgeous inside and out.

Won't you join me and show off your shot...it's easy!
Simply share any photo of your choosing this week. Link up (your blog post or flickr photo), and visit some of the other show offs as well!

I do ask that you kindly link back to my blog using this button (although a text link is perfectly ok too):

zoo

Summer is winding down. So last week (when Chris and Grace left me all alone with two rambunctious boys were out of town) I made Heidi go to the zoo with us. I mean I asked nicely and she agreed. We packed a lunch and the kids weren't butts it was fun.

And when I say that summer is winding down I mean we have ONE MORE DAY until school starts. Not that I'm counting or anything.

I can't think of anything better than riding bikes on a beautiful summer evening with your best friend followed by tubby time. Except wine. But 2 1/2 year olds can't have wine, so, you know, bikes and baths will have to do.

vashon island with friends

The kids and I hopped on a ferry this morning and played with our friends. They are HOME for the summer (they left us two years ago when they moved across the country). But when they are back it's like they never left!

so this happened

Last week I painted this garage door. Because of where it is on our house (south facing) and how long ago we painted it (six years) it looked SUPER faded. And splotchy. And yucky. We have a TON of leftover paint (from six years ago), so I had been planning on touching it up and finally got around to painting it. (In the rain, mind you). So yesterday I was chatting with my neighbor friend, Katie, and our little troublemakers were playing in the rocks like they usually do, only they weren't actually playing in the rocks, instead they were coloring all over my newly painted garage door! Fortunately it was just chalk and it washed off easily with the hose, AND it made for a great photo opp, but still...can't you just see these two don't mind being in trouble at all. Which worries me a little bit.
