and then she snapped: show {off} your shot

show {off} your shot

This week I asked Sarah from Nap Time Mom Tog to be our guest judge and she was happy to oblige.  She chose this photo from Blue Skies Photography as her favorite:

Sarah says this about the photo:
"I love the perspective of this photo. The editing is perfect for the shot. Love the texture. Gorgeous."
I'd have to agree!  Thanks for judging Sarah, and thanks to everyone who entered this week!

Congratulations, Marla, help yourself to my awesome winner badge:

This week my tip is about a tool that I think everybody needs.  A remote!  I got mine for under ten bucks through Amazon and it works like a charm.  I shoot with a Nikon but I got the generic "Opteka" brand wireless remote and I love it.  So get one!  It makes shooting these vain fun self portraits a breeze.  No more hitting the self timer, and running, only to get a shot of your behind before you get to where you want to be.  A large part of my day is spent home with my baby toddler, and we have lots of "moments" that I don't want to forget simply because there was nobody around to take a photo.  You know?  Like this one.  And no matter that it's way overexposed.  I kinda like it that way.

Now it's your turn!  What tip can you share this week?  Anything?  Please link up the permalink to your post (not just your blog), or your flickr account and share something about how you set up or took the photo, or how you edited it.  I really want to know, so please don't skip this part!  Then add my button so others can play along!  I can't wait to see what you come up with this week!

  4. I agree - I LOVE my remote! My kids are not allowed to touch my camera or gear, but I let them push the button on the remote and they feel like they are photographers!
