and then she snapped: show {off} your shot - photo share

show {off} your shot - photo share

Hi!  Thanks for coming back to week EIGHT off show {off} your shot!  We had some great entries again last week (thanks SO much for playing along!) and I will get around to picking my favorite, but not tonight.
I want to get this linky up a little early this week since it's Christmas and everything. OMG! It's Christmas this week!   I hope you all have your shopping, baking, and Christmas-ing ready.

This week I want to share a little bit about textures, since I'm kind of a new fan of them.  A texture is really just another photo that you layer on top of the photo you want to "texturize". Once you've copied the texture layer, then play around with the blending mode (I like soft light).  You can also play around with duplicating your photo layers, OR your texture layers and trying different blending modes, and different opacities.  You might be surprised at all the diffferent effects you can come up with.  You MIGHT even get a little addicted to lpaying around with textures.  Not that I am.  At all.  No, really.

This is the texture I used on my nativity edit this week. I created this texture myself and you are more than welcome to borrow it and use it if you want!  (Just right click and save it to your computer as a jpg).

Now it's your turn...create a blog post including one of your favorite shots from this week.  Please remember to share something about how you took the photo, or how you edited it...so that we can all learn from each other.  Also, please add my button to your post, so others can play along.  Then link up your blog post to the linky tool below.  Oh, and don't forgot to blog hop around a bit and comment on some other entries.  You know how we all love comments, right?  Have fun!  And have a very merry Christmas.

  1. Neat. I really don't know about textures yet, but there are a lot of things I hope to learn more about in the new year.
