and then she snapped: show off your shot for Shot@Life

show off your shot for Shot@Life

It has been over two months since I last hosted Show Off Your Shot and after this little break I have decided to bring it back. Mostly because I miss showing off my shots. And I miss seeing yours as well!

When I was at Evo (I swear this is the last time I will bring up this silly conference), I was introduced to a fabulous United Nations campaign called Shot@Life.

In their own words, "Shot@Life educates, connects and empowers Americans to champion vaccines as one of the most cost-effective ways to save the lives of children in developing countries..."

Did you know?
  • 1 in 5 children around the world does not have access to the vaccines they need to survive.
  • A child dies every 20 seconds in developing countries of a disease that can be prevented by a vaccine.
  • The number of children dying every year from preventable diseases in developing countries is nearly equivalent to half the children entering kindergarten in the U.S.

The statistics are staggering. As a mother who has lost a child myself I truly feel for these other mothers whose children are DYING. And these deaths are preventable! I am inspired to do something about it (and I hope you are too).

So this week's Show Off Your Shot is for Shot@Life (see how clever that is?). As we gear up for back to school in the next week I want to do something in order to see fewer children dying in developing countries so that they too can go back to school.

So for every show off your shot linked up this week I personally am going to donate one dollar to Shot@Life.

So link up, peeps, and spread the word. Let's make this a record week!

For more information about Shot@Life please visit them on the web at shotatlife.org

And now for MY show off this week. We spent a family day at the beach today. And I took my camera. Because, that's what I do.

Won't you join me and show off your shot...it's easy!
Simply share any photo of your choosing this week. Link up (your blog or flickr), and visit some of the other show offs as well!

I do ask that you kindly link back to my blog using this button (a text link is ok too):
