and then she snapped: wordless wednesday but with words

wordless wednesday but with words

It's beautiful in the pacific northwest this week, so Charlie and I went to the zoo today! We got there right when it opened so we scored an awesome parking spot, AND we got the animals pretty much to ourselves! Plus, most of the crazy people weren't there yet. (Most. There was one kid in particular who I wanted to punch in the face for being rude to MY kid, but...I digress. Also, I didn't punch him in the face).

PS Also, don't worry, I took Charlie to get his hairscut immediately afterwards, so you don't need to turn me in for child neglect. And also, that elephant is NOT dead. It just looked like it.

I don't really "get" Wordless Wednesday. So around here words are totally OK, and actually encouraged! So if you like words too and want to link up your "Wordless Wednesday, but with Words", please do. And if it's Thursday by the time you get around to it, well heck, that's OK too.

  1. There is nothing like an empty zoo. Eva hate when the animals lay down... she asks me to "fix them".

I kinda liked his hair a little messy - he looked less big kid.

  3. I love, love, love that black and white photo!! The zoo is always fun, especially at this age. We went to the National Zoo here in DC during spring break and it was over run by rude teenagers trying to start a gang fight. Needless to say it was an interesting trip to the zoo. Thankfully that is not a regular occurrence at the zoo and every other time we have visited has been a lot of fun.

  4. There are few things I cherish more then the photos I have of my kids when they were focused on something that they either loved or were amazed by...the eyes, the softness of their little faces. These are beautiful.

  7. We just recently went to the SF Zoo ... what FUN! It was pretty empty for us, too. Everyone had a blast, especially after my boys got to ride the real.steam.engine. Need I say more? I love your black and white!!

  11. So glad you didn't punch anyone in the face. When a child ruffles my mama bear heart, I just repeat- "Child abuse is wrong, child abuse is wrong..."
    Love the shots...

Wish my boyo would be more into the animals... he just likes to chill where they are doing construction on the exhibits, ha!
