zoo

We went to the zoo this week with some friends, because going to the zoo by ourselves would be boring (I need adults to talk to in between yelling at my kids).  So Heidi and her girls were happy to join us. (Well, actually, I don’t know if they were happy about it, but they did join us). This was the first time we’d been that Charlie seemed to actually be interested in looking at the animals. I think 18 months is the perfect age for the zoo, because he’s just learning animal sounds (which are either, “moo”, “meow”, or some version of growling). We walked way down to the part of the zoo to see the beluga whales only to find out the beluga whales are gone, to San Antonio or something, so we spent a little while looking at harbor seals instead. Which we could also see if we went down to the beach, but whatever. If I’m honest, I couldn’t care less about the animals, I only go for the photo opportunities. And I caught a few that I like! Which is your favorite? I love AJ with the sucker (in their family they call them “pops”), and I like the tiger shot with Charlie’s reflection. That last shot of all the kids is just to show you that not all of my brilliant ideas turn out. : )
