and then she snapped: before and after girl's room

before and after girl's room

When we bought this house, the previous owners had a daughter a little bit younger than Grace, and her room was painted pretty cute. While this photo is of the other little girl's room, Grace kept it yellow with a pink ceiling for a couple of years after we moved in.

A few years ago (around her 9th birthday) she wanted to paint (I convinced her that Pratt and Lambert - Lambswool, would be a good choice).  And since then it's been a constant rearranging of furniture. Don't you remember doing that as a kid? I know I did! Today we went to Ikea and got some things to update her look. Here's a final "fluff and buff".

The curtains, duvet cover, and green pillow are from our trip to Ikea today.

I've NEVER seen her closet this clean. (Or her room for that matter...she is a mini me, except for the liking things tidy part). She's had the bench with the pink bins underneath since she was probably three years old. We got them at Target and have always been able to find a use for them!

We got this side table on clearance at Target last week for $20 bucks! It looks great, don't you think? And her room wouldn't be complete without her Beatles poster, because, duh, Grace Loves the Beatles!
