I was inspired to take a shot or two (or twenty, as it turned out) of the moon the other night. And it was not as easy as it would seem. I thought, since it was dark out (duh), that I would need a slow shutterspeed, but then the moon just looked like a big white circle, with no texture or anything on it. I ended up shooting in manual mode, because I needed to underexpose to get the look I wanted.
The settings I ended up with:
ISO 1600 | 1/1250 second | f/7.1 | 135mm
And speaking of moons, it must be a full moon (or something) since I had a mr. baby cranky pants who would not nap, and another boy child (who shall remain nameless) who I had to remind that it is not MY job to flush his poop (yes, seriously!), both of which made for one very cranky mommy, one who very nearly lost all of her marbles. Good thing I have an awesome neighbor friend who lives next door who was more than willing to have a cold beverage with me this evening, thus preserving my sanity for at least one more day.
I've tried to take pictures of the moon, too. Definitely isn't as easy as one would think! And we all lose our marbles sometimes, but we're allowed to! :)
ReplyDeletewow that is one amazing shot! worth being a cranky mommy for a bit if you ask me :)
