So anyway, you remember how excited I was to have everybody back at school today? Yeah, psych! Charlie went to bed per usual at 7ish last night, and then at 10:02 I hear him fussing. I have vowed that he is too old to be getting up in the night so I ignored him for...AN HOUR! Next time I check it is 11:02 (exactly) and he is still fussing and not letting up so I give in and get him and OMG I am the worst mom ever because he totally had a fever. (I didn't even need the thermometer, because, you know, I'm a mom, but I checked anyway and it was 101). So I gave the poor guy some ibuprofen, nursed him, and put him back to bed. He woke up again at 2:30ish. I nursed him again (hey, he's sick, so sue me), but he wouldn't go back to sleep...so I brought him in bed with me, and snuggled that little bug. He woke up again an hour or so later and was soooooo hot. 105 on one side of his forehead (the side snuggled up next to me), and 102 on the other. DANG! More ibuprofen, and not much more sleep later, and I had one cranky boy. (My other cranky boy may or may not have been faking, but he agreed to take a two hour "nap" in exchange for staying home from school so it was all good).
ANYWAY...just so you know we CAN do things other than watch tv around here. When Grace got home from school she was a lifesaver and took cranky boy #1, gave him some snuggles and read him some books. Thanks, GRACE!
