Happy (almost) New Year!

Firstly, catching up on my favorites from the last couple of weeks:

My favorite shot of Week Seven is from Jaymi at Live Love Travel.   Isn't it cool?  I would love to try this out.  I love the bokeh in the background and the composition as well.  Actually I love everything about it.

My favorite shot of Week Eight is from Natalie at The Franklins.  I love desaturated shots, I love babies, and I love that vintagey look.  So, Natalie, you win!

How were your holidays?  Honestly for me, when the kids are home from school for weeks on end I really lose track of what day it is.  Not that it really matters, I do enjoy having them home.  But I actually look forward to school starting again on Monday!  (shhh, don't tell)!  We finally got Christmas all put away and did the big purge in the kids rooms and that always feels so good, especially after Christmas.  My oldest got a dslr (or big girl camera as we like to say) this week, and is LOVING it.  I'm so excited for her.  She actually bought it off a fellow blogger who was upgrading her own gear (thanks, Melissa!)

ANYWAY.  Moving on to week NINE!  I just have a little tip for you this week.  Ready?

Get in close.  Real close.

I love this picture of my sister and my dad.  Like love it.  I think if it wasn't real tight in though that I wouldn't like it very much at all, because then it would probably bug me that my dad's eyes are shut (they usually are), or that my sister is looking away.
