and then she snapped: a good cause...and a giveaway

a good cause...and a giveaway

THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED TO NEW ENTRIES.  CONGRATULATIONS, MARCI!

I am writing this post because I sometimes forget how fortunate we are and I know you do too.  Now I'm asking for your help, for those who aren't so lucky.  My cousin, Aylie, writes:

Dear Friends & Family,

Andrew and I were lucky to travel to Lesotho, Southern Africa last summer where we worked with Sr. Juliana and the people of St. Camillus Centre in Mohale's Hoek.  St. Camillus is a community of orphans, vulnerable children, and people living with HIV/AIDS that come together to support one another.  They have a garden and raise hens, selling the vegetables and eggs to people in the town in an effort to meet their most basic needs.

While we were there we helped the children of St. Camillus create beautiful cut paper flowers, and we've turned them into note cards in an effort to raise money for the friends we made in Mohale's Hoek.  Please visit Flowers of Lesotho to learn more and order a set of note cards or donate to the community.  We are selling the cards in packs of ten, which make great Holiday gifts or thank you notes!  And of course, all proceeds will go directly to the St. Camillus Community.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and check out the website, and please spread the word by telling your friends.

Happy Holidays,

Andrew & Aylie

You guys, these cards are beautiful.  Each pack has ten different cards, and the back of each card has a photo of the child who created the artwork for it.  I can't wait to write my thank you notes on them this year, and as I'm writing them I'll be reminded again how much I really do have to be thankful for.  Even the bare basics like food, and clothes, and health that we tend to take for granted.

I already bought my own cards, and I bought some for one lucky reader as well!

To enter, please visit Flowers of Lesotho's blog and then come back here telling me you did so.  While you're there, check out what the cards look like, and maybe even buy a pack for yourself or a gift.

For additional entries:
1.  follow Flowers of Lesotho
2.  donate to Flowers of Lesotho (or purchase some cards)
3.  be a follower of and then, she {snapped}
4.  tweet this
5.  facebook this

leave a separate comment for each additional entry, k?
I'll choose the winner via random.org

  9. Hi there! I'm a bit hesitant to enter a giveaway if I've only occasionally commented on your blog, and that's the truth in my case. I'd prefer that those who visit/comment regularly be the winners. That said, I've visited Flowers of Lesotho's blog, and I love the cards, especially Teboho's and Mookho's. This giveaway speaks to the generosity of your heart, and that's truly beautiful. I hope you have a joyful holiday and a healthful new year!
