Dear Charlie

Dear Charlie,

You are twenty weeks old today.  Which reminds me of when I was just twenty weeks pregnant with you...that's when doctors do the "big" ultrasound, where they check if you have boy or girl parts.  (Well, apparently that is not the actual reason for that ultrasound, but that's what we moms look forward to).  Anyway, obviously you had boy parts, but I already knew that!  It was my first time EVER being right about the sex of one of my babies.  I'm right about everything else pretty much all the time as you'll learn as you grow up.  Your brother, Camden, is always asking me "How did you KNOW that?"  I'll just tell you right now, it's because I am your mom. 

Anyway, you're probably dying to hear what you've been up to the past few weeks.  We started sleep training you on your four month birthday and it went well for a few days, then you (or was it I?) kinda slacked off.  You're getting up once and rarely, twice a night.  Except last night you got up three times.  What is UP with that?  So, we're still working on it, but I feel like we've made some progress.  Yesterday you had two good naps and went to bed for the night without a peep...which proves what I've been trying to tell you all along...YOU'LL be happier if you get some good sleeps.  Now that the big kids are out of school for the summer I feel like we can work on naps a little bit better. 

You are still ADORABLE as ever.  You are so smiley.  I'll catch you looking at me, and then when I look at you, your entire face explodes into a big smile.  Which makes my HEART explode into a million little pieces.  You just love when somebody plays with you, or reads you a story, or tickles you, or whatever.  And there's not really a problem with you not getting enough attention around here, especially with school out for the summer.  Oh!  And my favorite, you've started giving kisses!  OK, maybe not kisses, but big slobbery messes...which I will totally take any day!
