Then we checked into our hotel and walked to the Seattle Center. First up was the Fun Forest. Camden was about an inch too short for the big bumper cars, and when I asked if he was bummed he said, "No, I kinda saw that coming". I think Grace and Camden really enjoyed the kids' roller coaster though!
Next up was the highlight of the trip, a 41 second elevator ride 520 feet straight up to the observation deck of the Space Needle! Not cheap for our family of 4 1/2, and we had to wait in line for about 35 minutes, but it was pretty spectacular to be on top of the city. While up top, we were pointing out various landmarks to the kids when Camden asked, "Where's the Space Needle?".
We finished off the day with a ride on the Monorail to downtown, had some dinner, and did a little shopping. Charlie figured out early on he was going to have to adapt.
The kids CRASHED that night, (OK, we ALL crashed) after a FULL day of walking, and playing, and eating. The next morning we met Mimi and Papa for a pancake breakfast at the Original Pancake House in Ballard, and then we headed home. We stopped at Southcenter Mall on our way, because, well, it was Mothers' Day and I wanted to. We had a great time, and I can't wait to do it again!
Sounds like a wonderful day!! I love the family shot of you guys on the Observation Deck of the Space Needle!
