and then she snapped: Dear Charlie

Dear Charlie

Dear Charlie,

You turn 12 weeks old today.  And yesterday you weighed in at 13 lbs 7 oz.  You are packing on the pounds, must be because you LOVE to eat.

You got baptised this week!  You did so great.  Didn't cry at all, and you looked so handsome in your dress.  I know, I know, you'll probably be mad at me when you're all grown-up that I put you in a dress, but you looked pretty darn good, Dude.

Last night as I was getting you into your jammies you laughed, a serious belly laugh.  It was SO CUTE (kinda like everything about you).  Your laugh is just awesome, even better than your smile!  This week you got a bumbo chair from your cousin cousin Tula, and I was surprised that you are able to sit in it already.  I'm a little worried though, that you seem to like the television much more than you should.  But, I don't blame you for that, t.v. IS pretty cool...

OMG you had the hugest blow-out this week.  You literally had poop from your knees up to your neck.  I am just SOOO glad that we were at home, rather than me having to change you in the bathroom at Target or something.  I don't think that would have worked very well.  At all.

Just today you learned how to hang onto something (other than my finger) for a little while.  I gave you your car keys and you held onto them for quite some time.  I think you wanted to take me for a drive.  ; )  I'm so excited as you get more and more interactive.  It is really fun watching you grow.

One thing we need to work on is being able to get you to fall asleep in your bed.  You kinda have to be pretty "out" for me to be able to lay you down and have you stay asleep.  So, I'm working on that, although I probably won't work on it too hard for another month or so.  And getting you to nap in your bed needs some work as well.  I'm trying again today and so far you've been asleep in there for 10 mins.  Quite a feat!

This week also marked the second anniversary of your Uncle Pete's death.  You never met him, but you would have liked him.  He smiled a lot, and had an infectious belly laugh, just like you.

xoxo
Love,
Mom
