Dear Charlie,
You are four weeks old today and I can't believe how time has flown! I think you and I have turned a corner in the past week, and I think it might have something to do with the fact that you've started sleeping on your own (as in not in my arms). You've had a couple of 2 to 3 hour naps in your bassinet, and one night you slept in it from 10 to 4:30! (You did wake up to eat, but that is totally allowed at this stage of your life). I also figured out why you were crying kind of a lot. I think you had gas and I have since then become a better burper. Technically you are the burper, I am the one who rubs your back in just the right way to help you get those darn burps out! Of course you still have your cranky moments (who doesn't?), but we are definitely making progress! You are learning to follow things with your eyes, and you are beginning to look AT me instead of PAST me. You're even a decent shopper (for a boy), and you don't throw a fit if what I am buying isn't for you. (Although usually it is). One of my favorite things to do is watch you fall asleep...first your eyelids get very heavy, then they kind of flutter, and then you smile these adorable little sleepy smiles, and make these scrumptious baby noises. You are getting cuter by the minute (as if that's even possible), and I can hardly wait to see what you'll do tomorrow. I love you!
Love,
Mom
sweet.
