is your refrigerator running? and also, artichokes.
Did I tell you that the night before I left for EVO our refrigerator leaked onto our hardwood floors in the kitchen? So we shut off the water to the fridge and have been without cold fridge water AND ICE* for 3 weeks. Well last week the part that was needed to fix the cracked water line arrived, and today was FINALLY our scheduled appointment for the repair people to come fix it. So now we have ice and cold water and all is well again in the world. Oh, except for the fact that our floor still looks like crap and will need to be refinished which will require us to be out of our home for 5 days at some point. #firstworldproblems
And so? Tonight we had artichokes. (Which has absolutely nothing to do with the refrigerator, or the floors, or really anything, except for the fact that we like artichokes). With mayonaise. What do you dip your artichokes in?
*It is quite difficult to drink iced coffee, or iced tea without the aforementioned ICE. Which is a problem.

Oy... troublemaker fridges suck.
ReplyDeleteArtichokes!!!! How could you not dip them in lemon butter? :)
3 weeks no fridge? Yikes! Love Artichokes! I do not dip. Cook mine in the pressure cooker and drizzes with Olive oil, kosher salt, pepper and lots of minced garlic! SOmetimes just a squeeze of lemon after on top. Yum! Must make trip to grocery store......

Just plain melted butter! My mom grew up on these in California, and it was always my favorite snack growing up! Yummy!!

ReplyDeleteGlad that your fridge is all fixed. Yup, mine is working. :) Love your photo the artichokes look delicious. I used to dip artichokes in warm melted butter. I no longer eat butter so I eat them without dipping.

We can never find whole, fresh artichokes around here. However, knowing my LOVE for vegan mayo, I'm certain that would be my condiment of choice.
ReplyDeleteGlad you finally have your ice and water back. I drink a frap every morning. I wouldn't survive without ice!
Oh my, I'm sorry about your fridge; what a pain! Great artichoke shot! I haven't had artichokes in awhile! My mom stuffs them with hamburg; so yummy! I've never heard of dipping them in mayo; that's different!
ReplyDeletemayo? never heard of that for artichokes. we dip ours in melted garlic butter!
ReplyDeleteWhile I love the garlic butter dip, a lower calorie version is reduced-fat mayo with powdered ranch dressing mixed in. The kids love it. I grew up in Minnesota and artichokes were an exotic treat, but now we live in the midst of artichoke fields and they're a staple of our diet . . .
ReplyDeleteSomeone broke my car down on Sunday. I have been stuck at home for a week. I know it has nothing to do with artichokes or fridge. Let's say I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteOh and on pizza. Artichokes I mean.
The fridge breaking sucks - but those artichokes look delicious! Now I'm craving - I dip mine in mayo too :)
