Would you believe Grace took this of herself? At arm's length? Seriously, she's amazing. I have no idea how she got the focus so PERFECT. Maybe she's just lucky. ; ) This is a little early for her 13 year old picture, (it's more like 12 3/4), but it'll do.
Camden wanted me to take his "8 year old picture" while we were in Palm Springs, so we had a little photo shoot while we were there. This one I ended up cropping and brightening up quite a bit, but I love how it turned out.
My friend SuLee caught this one of Charlie when she was over last week. Charlie actually just had his two year old photo taken at a local studio, but I hated it. So this replaces it at 2 1/4. I cropped and brightened it, and converted to black and white. It just screams "Charlie" to me. I love it.
I don't really "get" Wordless Wednesday. So around here words are totally OK, and actually encouraged! So if you like words too and want to link up your "Wordless Wednesday, but with Words", please do. And if it's Thursday by the time you get around to it, well heck, that's OK too.
Grab my button and link up below and also with some of my favorite wordless (or black and white) Wednesday hostesses:

It’s wonderful that you are able to capture moments you can display on your mantle that uniquely represent each one of your children. Also, Kudos to Grace…that first picture rocks!
ReplyDeleteFunny. I have these school prints sitting in from of me and I can't bring myself to fork over the $80 for such awful pics. lol Doing them yourself is brilliant!

ReplyDeleteI linked up!
Yeah, those class pictures are terrible. You should capture what really makes your kids smile.
Oh my gosh, what beautiful children you have...your photos of them are precious. I've just discovered your "not so wordless" Wednesday and thought I would participate. Thank you for sharing your lovely images!
ReplyDeleteFab photos! School photos are never good, so I did the school photos myself at my son's school last week. Fun, but I'll stick to just being OCD about my own kids photos from now on:)
ReplyDeleteThese are so great. I love them.
ReplyDeleteTaking our monster to the studio is a disaster. Never again. I take so many pictures of her - there are at least one or two worthy of reprint and handing out to family.
I am going to have to break down and find a photographer for the family photos. It has been over a year
Your children are absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh those kiddos, too cute. :) Thanks for hosting a linkup!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful portraits
ReplyDeleteMollyxxx
These are beautiful pictures! Much better than a studio could have done!
ReplyDeleteYou did a fabulous job taking these pics yourself! Yeah that first shot is amazing; I can't believe she took it herself.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! grace is so awesome! I read her blog. I wish I was that awesome at 12!
ReplyDeleteOh and I got my dress. It is gorgeous. And comfy!
Those pics are fabulous--great job!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures of stunning children! I don't blame you not taking them to the studio. I used to always either do that, or schedule a session with a pro at our house or some other location. Now, except for maybe some family portraits, that I would actually like to BE in, I don't take them anywhere anymore, either!
ReplyDeleteThose photos are WAY better than any portrait studio package. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! So great to be able to take them yourself and save the money the studios charge.
ReplyDeleteLove these photos of your kids and I agree with everyone..they are way better than any in-a-rush studio could ever capture. My boys are still young (1 and 3) so for the first year of life we had a professional lifestyle photographer take newborn, 6 month and 1 year photos. I imagine now we will just do photos of them once a year but I treasure the photos we have of them. I don't think I'll ever do the studio again. now that I'm getting better shooting in manual and my photos are improving it's a lot of fun to watch them change through my lens.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. I totally understand what you mean about the portrait studios and there boring posed pics. I too take a lot of my kids portraits, but still find myself headed to a studio or a local small business photographer to get family shots. Sometimes it's just easier to sit back and let someone else do the work, esp. with 3 kids under 5.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images of your gorgeous children! Thanks for hosting :)
ReplyDeleteI say good
ReplyDeleteThe photos and your children are all beautiful. I love the shot made by your daughter. How did she do it? :-)
ReplyDeleteBest regards,
Imelda
Gorgeous kids, gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteYou already know this, but you make beautiful children.
ReplyDeleteI am sitting here still stunned by Grace's self-capture. It is so perfect - just WOW!
