your story...in photographs. the workshop.

My good friend Heidi is offering to share her mad skills with us regular people and I begged her to let me share with MY readers because I know many of you will totally want to sign up for this opportunity right along with me.

Hi there! My name is Heidi and I am a photographer, wife and mom. I blog over at Me As A Mother. My awesome friend Rachel is letting me take up some real estate over here on one of my favorite sites so I can tell you about a project that I am putting together. It's a $20, six week photography workshop called The Story Of...and it will not be a class where we discuss camera settings or photo basics. You will not need a fancy DSLR or souped up editing software. What you will need is a desire to tell a story. I want to focus on narrative; I have a photojournalism background, you see. I want to look at a picture and FEEL something. So let's all pick a theme, anything you want, be it a pregnancy, an upcoming wedding, a personal issue you are currently struggling with, and document it for six weeks. Each week's photos will be a piece of the puzzle and at the end we will have a body of work that tells the story of...us.
