This weekend we went to a vintage car show at the retirement home near our house. I took my camera so I could take some pictures (duh) and then came home and edited them. I had a friend come over today to teach me Lightroom (thanks, Nicole!) but I still really need help.
I want to keep my same workflow (that I use in Elements). What I do is edit as desired, and then "save as" (saved with original in my photo folder) THEN I watermark and round the corners and save for web (saved onto my desktop). So when I'm done I have my original and edited copy (without watermark and without rounded corners in my photo folder), and I have my web ready version on my desktop (which I toss after uploading to zee blog). I can do rounded corners in Lightroom (it's a preset!), but I couldn't figure out how to do it to more than one photo at once. I did figure out how to save (Lightroom calls it "export") to my desktop...adding my watermark and resizing for web at the same time.
Here's my confession:
I don't really "get" wordless wednesday. So let's call it what it is. Around here words are totally ok, and actually encouraged! So if you like words too and want to link up your wordless wednesday, but with words, please do. And if it's Thursday by the time you get around to it, well heck, that's ok too.

Really nice shots Rachel, love the second one!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. Thanks for sharing how you do it. I have issues with saving the edit before watermarking.
ReplyDeleteLearning new programs can be challenging! I am still learning Photoshop, and I have been using it for years.
ReplyDeleteI love old cars. Your photos are lovely.
Wish I know how to do ANY of that! :)
ReplyDeleteThanky you for this great sharing idea! I am not sure what went wrong but I hopped in two times, sorry...

These are lovely shots Rachel, & I love the edits! I am still trying to figure out Photo Shop elements 9. I know it is way better than Picnik, but I LOVE how easy and quick Picnik is. I can't wait to explore Light Room!!
ReplyDeleteHappy WW :)
ReplyDeleteThese shots are great! They look like they were taken when those cars were new.
ReplyDeleteI love shots of classic cars! Thanks for hosting this link-up, and I'll be back again soon!
ReplyDeleteNewly following via GFC!

Awesome photos...looks really classic!
ReplyDeleteLove the reflections in these. Eva loves cars! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry for the double entry - linky was going nuts.
Oooo! Love those vintage cars! Beautiful captures and edits...I've attempted to learn lightroom, too...but I think I'm too lazy, since I've figured out elements and now don't have the patience to start all over again with a new program! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's really easy to repeat that on multiple photos...but I don't know how to do rounded corners in LR - teach me!
ReplyDeleteThose are really great edits! I don't have LR. :(
ReplyDeleteWordless or Wordful Wednesday, either way it brings me to great blogs like yours. It's all good! Your photos are so nice! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel, this is my first link up with you...thank you for hosting. I'm loving your work and blog generally. Lightroom is complex, I'm just learning now, right at the beginning so I can't give any help. Sorry :( I have the feeling it'll be amazing once we know what we're doing though!! Most pro's use it, so it must be good :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Rachel.
I love classic cars. :) Happy WW!
ReplyDeletei don't think you can do things to multiple photos at once, in lightroom. if you can, i still haven't figured it out and i've been using it for a few years.
ReplyDeletehappy wednesday to you :)
Great shots. My grandfather use to take me to vintage car shows all the time when I was little.
